Happy Mother’s Day

KC- “Mom? Master”
Ziggy- “I love my Mom…and food…and sleeping”

Happy Mother’s Day to the most beautiful, patient, compassionate, devoted, smart, witty, nurturing, funny, strongest, I can go on forever…woman I know. I hope to be half the woman she is when I grow up! Happy Mother’s Day Mom, I love you!

BREAK: There’s absolutely nothing new to report. Work is same old, same old. And the past two weekends I’ve relaxed in Bamberg, enjoying the nice weather and local company.

In two weeks I’ll be traveling again, and I can’t wait. To start, for Memorial Weekend, we’ll be heading to Malaga, Spain, venturing out to Gibraltar and maybe even Morocco, if we have time. Three days after that I’m heading to Rome for two nights, then departing on a Mediterranean cruise.  We’ll be hitting Messina (Sicily), Italy; Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey; Piraeus (Athens), Greece; Chania (Souda), Crete, Greece, and then back to Rome. I’m ecstatic and I can’t wait to get started! For the July 4-day weekend, J and I will be going to Cinque Terre, where we’ll be hiking, swimming, and biking around the different cities, should be quite the experience! He’s coming in less than two weeks, for a solid two months, before he ventures off to his next duty station…I sound like a broken record…I can’t wait for him to get here!

Alrighty, I’m off.

Again, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mother’s out there, especially my lovely Mom!

Take care,

K

Of Monsters and Men and Women

I’ve been playing this song on repeat for the past two days. Since coming to Germany I’ve been slacking on the music scene, so if this is old, forgive me.

I’ve also been listening to Marina and the Diamonds new CD, Electra Heart. My favorites are “Teen Idle”, “Lies”, and “Primadonna”– which is the big single out right now. “Starring Role” sneaked out awhile ago, not sure if I mentioned it on here, but that was my absolute favorite for a month!

Not much is going on. Spring finally broke here in Bamberg! Actually, it hit 91°F…more like summer, but I’m not complaining!

Hope all is well!

RHCP for Easter

Hello,

Other than an amazing Easter weekend in Columbia, SC, I don’t have much new to report.

Went to visit J for the short weekend and we were able to fit in a lot of fun activities. One of the greatest highlights from the weekend was seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I’ve been wanting to see them live since I can remember and I finally got to see them Saturday before Easter Sunday! Santigold opened for them and she was amazing as well. Both performances were top-notch and I’d highly recommend if you get the chance to see them, to save the date!

The weather was gorgeous, much better than what Germany is experiencing right now–rain, gray, yuck–and Columbia has a great river-walk on the Congaree River which we took advantage of, I also took advantage of the stores and shops–no online shopping!

Work is going, same old same old. Had a project that I naturally procrastinated on…reminded me of being in college…fortunately, I was able to pull it off.  I’ll probably have to make adjustments and work on it a little more this week after they take a closer look and find my errs.

Travel plans in the future include a Mediterranean Cruise exploring the Eastern side–Croatia, Greece, maybe Turkey! Hopefully booking this week! Then we have a 4-day for Memorial Weekend, and a 4-day in June, both of which I have not made plans for yet. J will be here for both so I’m looking forward to enjoying the early summer with him.

Alright, kind of bland post, nothing major to report or talk about. Take care.

Enjoy the video. Found it on my quick nightly browse before bed.

Adios,

K

Rock Tumblr

I’m hooked.

Now I get all the jokes referencing tumblr, and how it’s just a black hole–sucks me in and it’s relentless, it won’t let me go. It’s not that bad, but it is a great time-killer. Here’s my favorite site:

http://whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com/

Just finished Game of Thrones, pretty impressive show, looking forward to the premiere this Sunday, and of course The Killing also premieres (which was very good, TMC– so you know it’s good), so naturally I will not get much sleep on Monday when I catch-up.

A very generous person has sent me a couple GRE, GMAT, and MCAT test books so instead of killing time and watching tv before I go to bed (n/m right after work, that’s a different story), I’ve been skimming these books trying to remind my brain how to study. Hopefully muscle memory will start to kick in, though it wasn’t that strong before…

Off to bed. Tomorrow is FRIDAY!! Looking forward to the weekend, I hope you all are as well, enjoy, and I hope the weather is nice!

*Above: Me–My apartment and office at work are both on the 4th floor…needless to say I am mastering the lazy-man load!

Just wanted to swing by and say Hi.

This past weekend we had a 4-day but I didn’t indulge in any fancy trip this time. A couple of my friends and I traveled to Baden-Baden, Germany and took in a relaxing weekend. I got two big things: Cuckoo Clock from the Black Forest, and a Dirndl!! I’ll post pictures later.

Since I was gone for two weeks I’m playing catch-up at work so I’ve been kind of busy…I’ll write more later either tonight or Sunday. Tomorrow I’m heading down to Munich, with the same two friends, and celebrating the opening season (my opener at least) of Beer Fests in Germany. I’m calling it the “Spring Oktoberfest”, Starkbierzeit, and here’s a link if you want to read more. Munich Fest- Starkbierzeit

Can’t wait to break in my dirndl!

Prost!

My thoughts exactly

I could not stop laughing when I saw this…I customized it a little for my current situation.

When I have internet…

When I don’t have internet…

Happy Belated Leap Day

Saturday Night--Thunderstruck & Roxanne

I guess I’ll get the bad news out first, I didn’t get into the program I wanted.

Alright, enough on that topic.  Moving on.

I’m in training for another two weeks in a small German town just north of Frankfurt. Pretty easy drive, which was nice, and the hotel is pretty snazzy. It’s for SHARP again, I’m not quite sure what else I could learn, but I’m sure there will be something new.

Worst part is paying for the internet. I’ve been out of the loop on everything, with my move and my phone out of service, I’ve been disconnected to the world outside of work hours. Naturally, with German customer service, I have no idea when I’ll be getting internet in my new apartment. Beer-good, autobahn-good, customer service (in general)-worst.

Speaking of the move, that went well. Lost a little bit in the security deposit for my old apartment but that was expected with the old landlords and their anal-attentiveness to their floors and walls. Sorry, I’m still a little peeved but I’ve considered it a sunk cost and again, moving on. Needless to say last week was pretty stressful with the move, training, and anticipation of cst.

Well March was the beginning of a new month and I’m ready to keep moving.  Trying to make concrete plans for a visit to the states, and on my 4-day weekends in Europe.

I have to go stretch and move around so I’m going to go explore the hotel (it’s huge) and the town. Hope all is well.
